Windows 8 vs Windows 7

I personally Would chose Windows 7, however it all depends on how much money $50 is to you, Windows 8 can be made tolerable with a third party program that puts back the start menu and has its advantages, but I am never very happy using Windows 8. Some old games do not work with Windows 8, but I don't think that it should influence your decision. At the end of the day it is a matter of personal taste.

Stick with windows 7, and save yourself a lot of trouble. Windows 8 is more optimized for touch screen smartphones then the computer. The only thing you will get is a headache from googeling how to use it. It doesnt offer enough good changes to justify buying it over windows 7.

This specifically depends on what hardware you are using. It is not reflective of AMD's performance. Amd builds are more then capable of playing games fine on windows 7 with the right equipment.
