Possible bent pins on motherboard = no power to board?

I just put together a new build consisting of an i5 3570k and this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138352. After everything was plugged in and connected there was no power to the board whatsoever, nothing at all. I tested the new PSU on my old mobo set up and it runs it fine so its not a faulty PSU. Newegg says there are bent pins and are sending it back to me, Bio Star said to RMA it to them and said if the pins are bent it could cause no power to go to the mobo, is this true? Or is it simply d.o.a. and the pins being bent are irrelevant?

Unfortunately any bent pins simply void all board warranties.

That being said, bent pins can cause all kinds of issues.

If you get the board back you may be able to unbend the pins with a small pair of tweezers or something, but you better have very stable hands.

For future reference always check the pins before installing any cpu and remember if you EVER have to send in a board check the pins and ensure the black plastic cover over the LGA is installed(shipping with that missing voids the warranty as well).

I am sorry that I do not have any good news, but bent pins always = void warranty on LGA boards.

Yea figuring out that part now...Biostar said that if the pins aren't bad they'll fix them so I'll take some pics of it when I get the board back in 5-10 days and post them.
