xbox connection sucks

I am connected directly to my brighthouse modem and the router is set up for wi=fi for laptops. So I am directly wired on xbox360 and not wirelessly. When I play on the multiplayer codbops. i get one bar sometimes 1 and a half while my team mates and opponents have full bars. this affects my gameplay and the other others always get the jump on my even after I have fired first. I'm even on 10 sensativity. Is it my modem of what?

Firstly, what kind of internet do you have and what speeds? ie; cable, dsl?

How many people are using wifi while playing? Relates to first question and bandwidth, cable is better handling more simultaneous connections than dsl.

Have you tried another network cable?

Where abouts is the server you're playing on?

Hi,
It depends on your internet connection bandwith, current bandwith available and on your distance to server. All of these will affect your ping which will result in severe lag.

Run this test and provide upload + download results.
