Hey so I just built my gaming pc and hooked up everything. I installed Windows 7 professional 64-bit and entered the product key but it didn't work because there was no internet connection. So I connected the pc with the modem/router but it still won't connect to the inernet.

HELP!!!

PS On my pc the ethernet outlet is blinking, looking like it should work.

No, is that really the problem? I was hoping to connect to the internet through my home network to do that but I ran into this problem. Will downloading these drivers onto my pc fix the problem?

Also, I was watching NewEgg's video on building a pc, the third part, and in that the product key worked perfectly and then they download the drivers onto a USB and then onto the pc. The thing with me is that it won't accept the product key, saying that I need to be connected to the internet in order to verify the product key.

Almost certainly, yes. Without the network drivers, your system has no idea how to connect to the outside world.

I don't understand, what are you suggesting I do then?

During initial install, the 'verification' phase does not/should not require an active internet connection. Put in the key...if it meets the correct algorithm, its good.
To "activate", then it needs to connect to the mothership.

Thanks to you everything worked perfectly, however I have come unto a new issue. I began installing Windows 7 updates (101 to be exact) and once it was done installing it said it had to restart the computer. I pressed that button and then it said CONFIGURING WINDOWS with a percentage below that. After a little while it said SHUTTING DOWN... but it has been "shutting down" for a long time now, is this normal or is there a problem?
