This is my first time building a gaming PC I am using
MOBO: ASRock Z77 Extreme6.
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
RAM: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Monitor: I have a 27" IPS LED 2560x1440 monitor
I really enjoy playing FPS
I am looking for a GPU that is easily overclocked, SLI/XFire compatible, and will support multiple monitors in case I choose to go that route in the future.
I would like to play games like BF3 and Crysis 3 at max settings.
My current budget alllows me $500
Would a HD 7950 or GTX 670 get me on the right path or should I spend the extra money and get a HD 7970 or GTX 680? I have read all about how the current AMD drivers push the 7970 ahead of the 680 in almost everything. I have also read how the 680 is a waste of money because of it's 5% gains over the 670 and how you can over clock a 7950 to do 7970 numbers with ease. the more read the more confused I get. I would gladly take any advice anyone could give me. I am looking to buy something asap.

Thanks,
Quinn

Thank you for the advice. Which 7970 would you recommend? I tend to see people saying not to buy the GHz editions because you can just as easily take a cheaper one and overclock it yourself. I forgot to mention I have the CPU cooling covered I purchased a Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H100i.

That´s true regarding to the GHz edition -- as you already know you can easily take a cheaper one and overclock it yourself! So get one that has the best cooler solution.

Your CPU is one of the best over there! :)
