I have MSI 845GLM on old OEM PC. I will to updating the BIOS for upgrading CPU (from Celeron 1.7 to Pentium 4 2.8), but I am confused how to updating BIOS on old mobo. The Live Update doesn't work, so what is the program name to flashing the BIOS?
You definitely don't want to flash the old mobos from within Windows; they have a habit of bricking. You'll either have to make a bootable CD or Floppy disc with the new bios on it to be able to flash. It's been so long I don't remember how, do a Google search.
I just flashed BIOS on old mobo, and it's working. However, it was doesn't boot when I install Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (533 MHz), however MSI said it support 533 FSB even 845GL doesn't support 533 FSB
