Are my temps too high? I5 3570k

I have an overclocked i5 3570k with a h100i oc at 4.4ghz on about 1.296v my max temps was at 80 after 1 hour on prime95 and avg temps at about 70. I'm still very new to overclocking so I'm not so sure how well this is.

More about temps high 3570k
  1. I have mine @ 4.5 1.256v with a noctua d-14, max temps were ~90c. Intel built a faulty shell. That's why it goes like that. And I forgot to tell that ambient temperature was ~30c, tropical country, no airconditioning system.
  2. That's a little high, but fine - your CPU isn't going to be that stressed under real-life conditions, so I'd consider it acceptable.
  3. Tad bit high but nothing to worry about yet

TJ max is 105 for this chip (max temperature) so under this temp for load, Tcase is 67.4C it should stay under this temperature while idle. If your not getting BSODs or shutting down from heat than your ok. If you want to improve your temps put your hand inside of your case after your PC has been on for a while, if the air inside the case feels hotter than it should be than you should focus on providing better cooling for your ram and vrms, if you have proper airflow it shouldn't be more than a few degrees hotter than room temperature, both these areas will contibute to CPU heat. If case airflow isn't a problem than you would need to delid your cpu to get any improvements.
  5. Hello, I finally got my miniITX gaming desktop (intel h77, i5 3570k, 8gb, sapphire 7870 2GB, 1TB sata) and it took me three days to setup all what I need.

My 3570k is running at 3.4GHz (Turbo disabled). My idle temps 26-42C. Under CPU temps goes all the way to 80-82C but I never got any alert or crashes or throttling .. as it seems to be okay.

Using Throttlestop, I set the speed to 2.2Ghz and the temps went from 80C to 62-65C. But I don't know exactly how much of performance did I lost.

Why? first off if you want to set a constant clock speed you don't need 'throttle stop' , turn EIST, C1E and all other C states off your frequency will be what ever you set the multiplier to times your BCLK x 100. so frequency = multiplier x bclk. throttling down your CPU is completely unnecessary, your temps were OK at 4.4, if you are not thermal throttling, gettings BSOD's, or Shutting down with out warning than your temps are fine. If you are worried about temps focus more on lowering your cases internal temperature.
