My flash pen knows that there are files on it but says it is empty. how can I get these files?

I working on some documents on my pen drive, an 8GB Maxell and then my computer crashed and now my files are not on my pendrive. But when I go onto "My Computer" and it shows that my pen drive has 3.08 GB free like it did before. Please help as soon as possible!!
