Hey people, I just had a question if my i5 x4 3470 is going to be compatible with a graphics card I want to buy...
So the graphics card is AMD Radeon™ HD 7770 GHz Edition
And people said it will perfectly fit into my PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot...
I've checked out the AMD website and it did say that it should fit, so now the problem is, will it be compatible with my processor?
I'm not an expert so I might be completely wrong and there's no such thing as compatibility between the processor and the GPU...

Processors and GPU don't have compatibility issues only bottleneck ones, and as far as I can tell you really shouldn't have a problem at all. Morgoth is right you should give us a heads up on your PSU as well, as I've also just realised myself that you really need to remember to take that into account.

You do not have to worry about the GPU and the CPU being compatible. Just make sure your power supply can supply enough current through 12v rail and you're golden. (Oh, and your motherboard can handle it but that tends to not be a problem.)

I see no reason why they should not fit. And you are right, there is no such thing as compatibility between those 2 :) Since your motherboard has pci-x 3.0 and HD 7770 is designed to work in that (AFAIK this GPU can work on pci-x 2.0 too), now you only need to make sure you have a decent power supply unit in your system. That GPU needs a good 450w power supply unit to operate flawlessly. An advise though: There are bad and good quality power supply units in the market so make sure you have a quality one.

Thanks, and would it be OK for me to buy a 500W power supply or does it have to be a 450W or any specific? I guess the bigger the number of watts is the quieter it will work??

Well AMD recommends 500 watts power supply in fact. http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7770/pages/radeon-7770.aspx#3

It is always good to play safely. So it is better to get a 500 watts one. Do you need a recommendation? how about something like this?: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500
or this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx500m
