Hi all.

During routine cleaning my Asus A75~M Pro MB is not booting up at all.

I have tested the PSU and in working order, even used another PSU but still no booting up occurs in any form.

The standby pwr LED is lit upon PSU connection, but no bootup. I have cleared the c~mos with no change.

I have tested the "on" button on the case and works fine, this is deffo a MB problem.

There is nothing else i can find fault with, the board is dead, no beeps, errors or additional lit LED's.

I need some help in sorting this issue out. I purchased this board new approx 14 months ago and not sure if its still under guarantee as im not familiar with Asus's factory guarantee. If the boards buggered and still in guarantee would they still be able to repair/replace the board with no Proof op purchase? If not i'm truly fuc*ked.

Simple PC, AMD 3.6 GHZ dual core, 4gig ram with no GPU at the mo.

I'd really appreciate it if i can get some feedback from you guys!

Like i mentioned in above, PSU in working order as well as all front panel cables. MB won't start either with these connectors removed. Shorting out the PWR contact on MOBO has no effect.

I'm taking the whole PC in to supplier today to have looked at.

Make sure you did not knock the Clear RTC jumper off the header during your routine maintenance. If it's not that, difficult to say, you might need to RMA the board. Before you do that, I'd take it out of the case and configure the board on a non-conductive surface and see if it powers up again.

Problem sorted!

Last knight after I gave up with the board I removed the C-Mos battery to remove all power on the board and it did the trick. Though I did drive over 40 miles to my supplier only to have them plug it in and start up!

It would seem that there was a static discharge of some kind that forced the board into non-start mode. Leaving the board for 12hrs without juice may have de-energized any power that was still on the board. The board has got ample anti-surge etc crap all over the board and this issue seems to have been a self-protection function.

I always seem to forget this step when issues arise, will deffo remember that!

Thanks all for replying.
