Benq monitor stuck @ 60hz

Hello everyone,

I've been having this lingering problem which I can't seem to figure out...
I recently purchased a benq GW2250 , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014298 ,

The refresh rate on the site says 76hz vertical, but for some reason I'm stuck on 60hz no matter the resolution..

Anyone have any thoughts as to how to fix this?

Your monitor is most probably has a 60Hz native refresh rate.
The manufacturer site info http://www.benq.com/product/monitor/gw2250/specifications

Well, most monitors can accept only 60Hz signal. So it may refresh the screen 75 times, but then again it is useless as only 60 frames come in every second.

Btw - sometimes you can press them a little bit but rarely comes something good out...

^That is true. I have 3x Asus 27" monitors all run at a native 60Hz refresh rate even though according to the specs like yours they have a Vertical Refresh Rate 50 - 85 Hz. Your monitor is at the refresh rate it should be running at do not worry about it 60Hz is the optimal setting for that monitor.

yes I'm using DVI, I tried DSUB first..

With most those spec's, they give you the highest possible refresh rate, but not necessarily at the native resolution of the monitor. Most LCD's that are 60hz at 1080p, allow for 75hz at 720p.

No they are not falsely advertising. The 76Hz is the MAXIMUM rate but if you are running at the native resolution (1080p) then the maximum refresh rate would be 60Hz. Old CRT's where the same way to higher resolution the lower the refresh rate.

Are you connected using HDMI? You have to use DVI-D for 75Hz at 720p. HDMI 1.4a and below cannot go above 60hz.

Well, it appears that 76hz was a mistake.

It doesn't matter a lot, as that monitor has a horrible response rate. It is definitely not a gaming monitor, but good for the desktop.

2ms vs 16ms is a big difference. Though I see on newegg it shows 4ms.
