there is no manual? are you sure is surround sound? maybe it is a security system.

it's surround sound speakers in the ceiling I have a button on the wall with the electrical outlets that turns like a room dimmer.

Well...you could just actually push the button and see what happens. Hopefully, it's not the autodestruct sequence initiator.
