Hi all, I am replacing my media center PC and have purchased a base HP desktop with the aforementioned video card. The machine only has a DVI output, so I use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect to the TV. My old machine had the same setup (with Intel GMA X4500 graphics card) and the TV received audio just fine, but nothing with the new desktop.

I have Googled this site a ton and cannot come up with a solution to get audio from the card. I have updated drivers, reinstalled the Realtek HD Audio codec, etc but no luck. Shouldn't this new machine be capable of sending video and audio through the DVI port? Do I need a new card to accomplish this, and if so, any recommendations?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Liam

Graphics cards dont have anything with audio in general (but this is APU right?). There are sound cards integrated in mobo and sometimes in CPU.

There may be a conflict with the audio drivers.. You should try uninstalling the realtek drivers and reboot. See what happens.

Many people experience sound trouble when installing a new AMD card (including me) I uninstalled my old sound drivers and right after the sound came back.
