What are the chances of defective products from Newegg.

I'm about to purchase all my items but I was wondering about this for sometimes. The motherboard reviews really scare me. A bunch of DOAs and something's said how how the ud5h models have USB 3.0 issues. Only motherboard I was recommended was the asrock extreme4. I heard though it was 1 inch smaller than regular ATX boards. I might get the extreme6 in that case.

This is my first build and probably won't have any help. It would sucks if motherboards have a high failure rate

Do not worry.
It is natural for those with a problem to complain.
Sometimes problems are the result of inexperience or incompetence.
Satisfied Customers may report less often.
Newegg gets their products from the same sources, and because they turn things over faster, the stock is probably fresher.
If you have a problem with newegg, they are very easy to deal with.

Newegg doesn't make the products, nor are they the ones who are shipping it. The odds that a certain board is defective in their inventory are the same as that of it being defective at Best Buy, for arguement's sake

Defective products can come from any manufacturer. For example, I just had to RMA a Corsair PSU. These are widely known as being quality products.

My advice to you is to make sure the parts work as soon as you get them. Having dealt with Newegg in getting an RMA for a case, I can tell you that the experience was absolutely painless. The sooner you test, the sooner you'll find if parts are defective, the sooner you can resolve it and get parts that work :D

As rex said, the same as any large distributor. I suspect they treat their stock the same way as a distributor like Amazon.

The first motherboard I received from Newegg was defective. However I highly doubt they were at fault. As a plus, their RMA is quite fast (1 week for me) if you live on the west coast and if you ask nicely you can waive their return shipping fee.

You rely on luck buying from anywhere.

Thanks for the quick answers guys. I should have re worded my question. I didn't mean to say Newegg would be at fault. Of course it's the manufacturer. Just based on newegg reviews a lot of people have bad luck with motherboards. Trying to look for one with the lowest failure rate.
