All pc's are with cable cat5e. And have Norton 360 and all use VLC as a player

Network structure
Laptop----2mcable---Gigabit switch----20mcable----netgear 100mbs router----cable 2m---- HTPC

My problem is that when I send files from my Windows 7 x64 Laptop to my windows 7 x32 HTPC I send with 10Mbps but when I send files from my HTPC to my laptop I send with 10kbs!!!

If I connect on the same lan cable(from the way of the Laptop pc) a windows xp laptop it transfers the files with 10mbps. Also another pentium 4 with windows xp streams perfect from the HTPC

This slow speed happens when the pc that receives files from the HTPC is a windows 7 pc.

What is going wrong?

EDIT

Solution/FIX!

Ok.I fixed it with the silliest way. I rolled back to 2009 drivers for the HTPC and the problem fixed for now. Speed transfer is as it must be!!

It looks like you have a 100megabit connection to the HTPC. that would cut you down to 12.5 megabytes/sec on paper.

Now 10kbs seems insane.

Are the lan drivers up to date.

If you power down then restart the Windows 7 system, does the speed improve for a while by any chance?

No. I don't think that it is a driver issue because the Windows XP machines are working fine.

I do not think it will help. I only had XP systems not connecting. Both 7 and 8 are working fine and fast.

To try to isolate this, you say you used a network cable, was this between the 2 systems having issues?

Also, since you seem to have a mixed network, ensure Jumbo frames are not set to in for any of the gigabit computers.

Very strange, but a fix is a fix.

Just another reason why is it ain't broke(old drivers), don't fix it :)

My media centers network drivers are 2 years old and I see no reason to update them :) and even less now.

You may wish to copy and add your own FIX to the first post for future users who have this issue(I can do it for you if you wish, just give the word.).
