Should I get a GTX 670?

I am highly interested in picking up a GTX 670 in about a month. Specifically, this one.

I can't get the 4GB edition because it won't fit into my PC.

My question is, should I get this with new consoles on the horizon. Rome Total War 2 is coming out this year, and I have all ready missed out on some of last year's games because of my weak GPU.

But, on the other hand, I don't want to shell out a decent chunk of change for a GPU that is going to be playing most things in medium by this time next year.

What should I do?

The 670 will allow you to play at high-ultra settings @1080p in any game currently on the market. It will be better than the Next-gen consoles. Don't waste money on buying a lesser GPU and then upgrading later. Buy a good one now, think later.

Completely agree, maxing a games graphics doesn't make it any more enjoyable, it just adds the nice little things that are basically the cherry on top of the cake. Back on topic, don't worry about the console releases, with a gtx 670 you'll be playing on high-ultra for a fair while
