Looking for a nice $250-$300 graphics card.

Hey guys I am looking for a good graphics card for around $250- $300. I was looking at the 7870 but I am not sure. I will be upgrading from a GTX 560. I am wanting to run games at 720p.

  1. The GTX 560 is more than enough for 720p. However, if you are really looking into a getting a new GPU, then the 7870 is a good choice. The 7870 "XT" is slightly more expensive than the regular, but it will serve to be a more powerful upgrade. This card can be had for <$270.

Would a 660 ti be a good choice also?
  3. I would have thought that card would be pretty good at 720. At any rate - the 7870XT is getting great reviews and crush any game at that resolution and do very well when you move to 1080p someday. $250 and you get Bioshock and Tomb Raider free. E-bay the codes if you won't play the games.

Edit: Bleh - that is out of stock. If you can't wait, could just go with a GHz edition. Get one with a multifan cooler.
  4. I would recommend a gtx 660 TI since its pretty much only 4fps slower than a GTX 670 and they can be overclocked like crazy.

Next time please don't post three threads with the exact same question.......

It would be okay, but generally it is only going to be slightly faster than the XT. I recommend whichever is the cheapest available.
