I'm trying to uninstall McAfee, first, via add/remove programs. I did this a couple days ago successfully but windows updates screwed with my computer so i had to system restore and McAfee returned with a vengeance.
I have the downloaded complete uninstall file of McAfee, MCPR, ready to go but of course it tells me to get rid of McAfee from the Programs and features before i use it. When i do select it for uninstalling via programs and features, McAfee window pops up that i can tick the boxes of the programs i want to uninstall and progress as i can see just the R of the button bottom right. But once i click that, the next window only has the Cancel button visible, the other button is too far to the right for me to select, even some of the writing is cut off.
I feel like throwing my computer in front of a stampede of elephants.
I have windows action center asking me whether i trust McAfee and want to run it as the chosen anti virus but pressing yes doesnt do anything. When i view installed spyware protection, it says windows defender which is turned off and McAfee which has the status 'snoozed'.
Real Time Scanning wont turn on at all. I have malware byes as the only other anti virus program. My computer was wiped back to factory settings last week.
All help much appreciated!
