I was using my laptop for a few days & then all of a sudden pin strips appeared on the screen, the laptop was brought to a laptop repair tech. & once I turned it on the screen filled with a tartan type pattern. What would be the problem with my laptop? Please help.

It's either the monitor or the video chipset in the laptop.
Try updating the drivers for your video chipset, or just send it in for repair. If it's hardware related and not the drivers, but instead the actual monitor there is nothing you can do.

Thank you very much for your quick response, my Laptop was returned to me with a New screen but now I'm having problems with charging the battery... It won't take a charge, at first the battery icon shows that it's starting to charge & then it stops & nothing happens so that leaves me to use my Laptop while it's plugged in. Is there any-thing that I can do other than just buying another battery, which I did & it won't charge either, can you please help me with this problem?

The next thing to try if that doesn't work is to remove the battery and then reinsert it to make sure it is properly inserted into the laptop. After that try another charging cord.
