I keep running my Pokemon Stadium 2 ROM and it doesn't work fully. All of the capital letter I in the game aren't lined up with the rest of the text, like it shift lower, the pokemon avatars in the selection menu have lines running through them, and it doesn't show the menu it should when you go through your moves. For example, it will show the move Fire Punch, but it doesn't have anything around it except white. It should say a brief description, the move type, and how many more times I can use that move. But it doesn't. I have Project 64 by the way, and have tried it on 2 different websites. If you could link me a working ROM that doesn't have these issues, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

I would recommend asking this question in various online EMU and ROM communities. They will have more experts on the subject and will be able to better assist you. Just so you know, video game ROMs are illegal, and Tom's Hardware has strict policies that prevent our experts from aiding in such activities.

A general rule(it is a forum rule) is we do not link to anything that is not legal(Roms do technically fall into that category).

Roms are a grey area. Illegal, but owning the game changes it(we have no way to know what you do and do not have).

That said, 99% of the time the ROM is fine and it is just an emulator issue.

Ah. Okie doke. I do however own the game, but thanks anyway. I will check forums. I just wanted to relive my childhood a bit lol. I might actually get the old N64 out and play the game on it. Thanks!

I've seen a lot of different answers relating to ROM legality, and not being a lawyer myself, I don't know which is correct. A lot of ROM and EMU sites have said that it is legal as long as you own the original copy, or delete it in 24 hours. Other sources have claimed it as a common misconception. According to Nintendo's legal information, it is only legal to have the ROM that you make of your own authentic copy, and downloading from the internet is always illegal. http://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp

Do you know if there is a reliable statement on the matter?

I would trust Nintendo every time on this(they have a legal team that I lack).

You can buy what you need to rip/play your game carts on the computer for sure.

I would guess it is the full idea of illegal copies being made available on the net(the 24 hour idea is supposed to be some kind of "demo") is the issue(piracy is piracy. Try to tell a judge you downloaded a movie you already owned. I do not think it will go far.).

Even toms had some emulation guides, so while I will not give too much info on roms here. I do not think I would ban a user over asking once in a while.
