Read some reviews on new egg that it doesn't come with a built in gpu which is fine cuz I'm getting a gtx 660 sc
Also read that this things fan is terrible.
But I need to know will this play skyrim well on ultra paired with my gpu? Or is it a "bottleneck" I really can't afford a better one.
Would it be better to go to a dual core or is this the best gaming CPU I can get for the price?

The stock fan is fine. It's a locked CPU that can't be overclocked. You do not need to spend extra money on aftermarket cooling.

It's a very good CPU that will not even begin to bottleneck a GTX 660. It would not bottleneck 2 x GTX 660s in Sli. It will be a much better choice than a dual core CPU.

Actually, it can be overclocked slightly with a z77 board by raising the multi to the max turbo multi. That is what I did with my "locked" i5 2400 and P67 board.
