Hello everyone,
I was considering a processor upgrade to boost my gaming experience. My question is if it would be worth getting a 3570k now? I know Haswell is going to be released within a few months and that it would probably be wise to wait. I was thinking that maybe I should buy ivy now and wait for broadwell to come out.

The motherboard I'll be upgrading with would be an Asus z77 mini itx. I'll be getting a Bitfenix Prodigy case and using a H100i. I already have a 660 ti.

What do you guys think?

Having done pretty much that exact upgrade (From a dual core athalon to a quad core phenom II to a i5 with two 670s to my current i5 in a bitfenix prodigy) I can tell you that it's going to be huge.

The speed is one thing, but the other thing you're going to notice is that your computer will be much, MUCH quieter and cooler. It's surprisingly nice - one of those things you don't know is a good thing till you have it, and then you wouldn't dream of giving it up.

That being said, I'd wait for Haswell anyways. Either you get the new tech, or you get the tech you want for cheaper - either way you win.

That is irrelevant. There's a lot of hype going around about how haswell is going to be 'optimized for gaming,' but all that tech is in the HD5000 chip, which doesn't matter at ALL to anyone with a discrete card, as Intel doesn't look to be licencing it to either Nvidia or AMD.

+1 fully agree.
