I mostly watch movies and do some coding on my old PC and even it can manage fairly well those tasks. However Civ 5 is annoying to play and I want to upgrade. I can't spent too much money for it so I want to make a balanced choice - decent performance for decent price. I'm using 21` Monitor at 1900x1080 . What AMD/Intel based CPU/MoBo combination will give me good (at least medium) performance? I find A10 5800k very promising and at good price (After all it's AMD) but I'm not sure.

A budget and the part(s) you plan on keeping would help a lot to pick an upgrade.

I need only CPU + MotherBoard. The budget is an issue that's why I pointed Civ5 as criteria. I need CPU-Combo that will run the game at least at medium settings. If it's possible I want to go under the price of I5-3570(K) + sutiable MoBo. I think that Civ5 require less but I may be mistaken.

You'll want a gpu if you go intel. You could look at an i3-3220, h77 mobo, and a 7850. A pro3 or the like would be a good mobo, assuming you don't want crossfire.
