Eyefinity on Laptop with no Displayport

Hi, I was wondering if this active HDMI/DVI ---> DP adapter would work
to have 2 external monitors running concurrently with my laptop monitor:

The laptop has a 1 DVI port and 1 HDMI port.

The video card is an AMD HD6990

  1. The only way that I know of that would make that work would be if your laptop's built in display was connected via DisplayPort if not there is no way to make that work natively. Sorry but laptop GPU's are just not the same as there desktop brothers. With out the built in display being DisplayPort or a native DisplayPort out there is not much chance of a 3x display setup on a laptop.
  2. I understand that, but the device I posted appears to be able to convert one of the native ports to the necessary display port. That still wouldn't work?
