Not recognizing cd rom

Hello Everybody...
I hav DVD RW DRIVE. But from few days my DVD drive isnt detecting MANY of the cd's. Bt still it can detect SOME of the CD's. plz help me out.. i dnt know what to do...

First thought is it might be dirty/dusty. Try a can of compressed air to blow out any dust for starters and check your CDs are clean too.

Try those CD's in another computer to make sure they are still working properly. Use compressed air as Flying-Q suggested. If it still has problems, the CD drive may be on it's way out. Luckily CD/DVD drives are fairly cheap these days.
