ati radeon 9800 pro 128mb

Start saving up for a new card, methinks. It's never a good sign when you have to perform surgery of this kind.

What exactly do you bend, if I may ask? The PCB? If so, it could be a dry solder joint, and the good old oven bake trick might do the trick. Do some research on that before trying it though.

If it were the slot connection the PC would hang. I read between the lines that this is not the case. More information would help resolve. As far as I can remember the 9800 pro 128MB was an AGPx4 part and never released with an AGP-PCIe bridge. Please correct my memory if I have recalled incorrectly.

Q

Vertically or horizontally, i.e. did you push on the thin edge towards the slot/motherboard or on the flat edge to the left or right?

It's an either/or scenario.

You could try fully removing the card and the re-inserting after giving the slot a clean/blow through with and air can.

if there is a broken joint to the output ports, if I used the DVI port instead would that work?
