windows 8 64 bit

Hi all 1st time here for me ....
I upgraded from windows home premium 32 bit to windows 8 pro 32 bit with no problems at all.
However i recently upgraded : mobo (asus p8h61-mx r2.0
: cpu (intel core i5-3470 3.60 ghz)
: samsung 840 series 250gb ssd

I did a clean install of windows vista 64 bit as my windows 8 was upgrade version only hoping to upgrade from vista but after complete install says was unable to install windows and resets back to vista.

any ideas ?

I'm lost. What are you upgrading from?

I upgraded from windows home premium 32 bit...I did a clean install of windows vista 64 bit

If you have a 32bit copy of windows (vista?) you can't in place upgrade to 64bit. You need to format and start with win8. I'm not sure of the process however. As CaptJack said save your data and start over.

ok ive now installed windows 7 64-bit no problem still cant upgrade to win 8 but now have encountered another problem the intel graphics wont update, if i put a seperate gfx card it will crash on start up, ive done half a dozen fresh installs of win 7 and ive updated all chipsets/gfx drivers and still everytime i restart it crashes and rollsback previous restore point
