What do you think of my friends build? He hasn't built it yet and he also wants a gigabyte 660ti. Sorry there are not any links. He wants to use for gaming. do you also think that the motherboard and RAM are overkill like me? Thanks. http://tinypic.com/r/o9poxu/6

16 gb is way overkill for gaming. also no need for a z77 mobo with that cpu, and if he doesn't plan on sli a 500-550 watt psu would be more than enough .

Get 8gb RAM for gaming. 16gb will be useless.
Get an h77 motherboard because you cannot overclock the i5 3470 making a z77 board useless.

Since you have a 3450 it is a locked processor you don't need a motherboard with a Z77 chipset. The Z77 chipset is usually reserved for an unlocked processor. I would recommend this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157302 The Ram is fine. Besides that it's good.
