Hello,

I want to get a new GPU to play newer games on high/ultra. (1680x1050)
If i want to get a card that can run newer games on those settings my CPU will be bottlenecked. But I can only afford a new GPU.

My budget is 210 euros (270) dollars.

Which card would be the best for my rig? (I will list the specs and the games I wanna play down)

My Basic Specs:
CPU: Amd athlon 2 X3 450 3,2ghz
GPU: GT 440
RAM: 6GB 1333mhz
STORAGE: 60Gb bootdrive SSD + 500GB HDD

I wanna play Bioshock infinite, GTA V, BF4 and more on High/Ultra settings at 1680x1050. Don't really need that much anti aliasing though.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I forgot the PSU lol. It's 450 watt but I don't know the brand.

You're going to want a high quality (Corsair, Seasonic, Antec) 500w if you're planning on going with a 660. Don't skimp on the PSU. I learned the hard way. Trust me, you don't want to learn the hard way.

Wait!? What happens when you have a weak PSU?

450W is not good. You can have 660 Gigabyte but I would get good quality PSU. Get Corsair cx500/cx600. As Miketen587 said you dont want to try the hard way. It can start burning, explode (not much but enough to scare you), overvolt your other components, not sending enought power for 6-pin conectors (overheating graphics)... And your PSU needs to have 6-pin connector to run this card. So top priority now would be new PSU.

id say anything more than a 650/ti would bottleneck his old Athlon anyway. bf4 isn't evn out yet nor are there system requirements. BS infinite on ultra? dream on. you need a killer 1500$ rig for that.

HEy MAn If You Are Going for a good GPU then you should definetly HaD a good psu of 500w or moRe otherwise if you use a lower watts psu your SyStem can go in risk as the power required for the gpu might get lower and your gpu can brust or will not work.So get a good psu.....

Whats with that random capitals?

450W is very, very safe if you dont OC anything. But cheapest PSUs 450W isnt the same as top grades 450W.

And your card doesnt burst. New cards downclock themself if they get too hot as long as you dont have anything to hold it up (OCing)...

if your mother board supports go for 760 but only ddr3 , as your psu will burn out , if psu has 750 and above wattage then go for ddr5
