Really contemplating making the leap from my sig machine (AMD) to an Intel platform. Any of you Intel guys have any suggestions for the MB to pair it with?

Ive looked around a bit, but Im also not looking for all the craziness that seems to be there in the market. Don't need on-board WIFI...etc

I've only ever used ASUS, but am up for a brand change. Need USB 3.0, overclocking ability, but not looking for a $400 MB

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I love my Asrock Z77 extreme4. It has USB 3.0, does CF or SLI, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-CrossFireX-NVIDIA-Mother...
Ever since Intel’s introduction of the Z77 chipset, motherboard giant Gigabyte has made huge leaps in in improvements on their motherboards all the way from the budget end to the extreme high end and the Z77X-D3H is a perfect example of what kind of top quality products can be achieved.

With support for PCIe 3.0, SATA 3 6Gb/s, 8 channel integrated audio, Gigabyte’s fully digital power delivery system, and ultra durable 4 features, it’s got a lot going for it.

I did actually look at that one, but as one of the selling points is SLI & XFire (a feature I dont need at all) I started looking elsewhere

Just because it has a feature you don't need, doesn't mean you should eliminate it from consideration. It was also given a recommended buy by THG.

I second the Extreme4. But, there shouldn't be an issue with any Z77-based mobo from Giga, Asus, ASRock, or MSI. Just check the newegg feedback to see if there is a track record of issues. If you cheap out a lot, it might force you into a lower overclock.
