personally, I find Norton to invasive.
Working on numerous other peeps PC's over the last 20+ years, BitDefender, WebRoot, Kapersky, Checkpoint haven't ever given me any issues. Panda, TrendMicro and Norton have at times frustrated the bejeezes outta me.

I like to install comodo - free and good.
/currently having avast for antivirus, comodo for my wall'o'fyre, spybot s&d... everything is free and I never had any problem with a virus and/or spyware/.
Anyways - the best security and protection is always between the keyboard and the chair
