Hello everyone,
I'm new to whole upgrading components of my PC so I need your professional opinion/help.
So I found a new GPU (HD 6770) for 50$ used, and my question is; can I Crossfire the HD 6770 DDR3 with my current GPU Sapphire HD 5670 DDR5?
I'm playing Battlefield 3 so if anyone knows, will I get much better fps with those two cards compared to a single hd 6770?
My processor is Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3,0GHz OC'd to 3,6Ghz WILL IT BOTTLENECK MY NEW (hd6770) GPU?
Also I'm running Win7 32bit, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, power suppy 800Wats.
*I know my PC is low end, in a few months I'm getting a new mobo and basically building a new PC so I'm currently stuck with this configuration.
Thanks!!!!

Actually you can crossfire some cards of different series but that's like the 6770 and 5770 (the 6770 is just a rebadged 5770). You can also crossfire cards like 6850 and 6870 as long as they're the same first two numbers you're generally fine too.

For a complete list look at this.

Unfortunately with the two cards you're looking to CF it can't be done. Although the 6770 is a nice upgrade from what you have.

The one thing that was right was that your CPU won't make much of a difference vs a modern one with how low end the hardware is.

Yeah I probably could have articulated what I meant by "series" better... 68XX series, 59XX series, etc.

So if I get, lets say HD6670 only then I'll be able to CF it with my HD5670? One more question, will those two CF'd cards be much better then a single HD6770? If so, how much better? Thanks for replying so fast, both of you!
