So i was building my computer everything was fine and everything was plugged in besides my GPU. Turns out my PSU does not have a 6 ping PCI connector. To cut a long story short i need a new PSU . I was thinking about getting this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/ocz-zs650w-uk-zs-series-atx-psu-650-w-11342059-pdt.html (But it is a little out of budget) or this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/ocz-corexstream-csx500w-uk-atx-psu-500-w-15050623-pdt.html.

Also as far as im aware PSU are all the same size just with this one i had some trouble fitting it. (The case design is awkward) To take it out and fit a new one i need to unscrew the motherboard and everything with it :(.

Also pc specs im trying to run it on. (will a 500w be ok?)

Intel Core i5 3570K Quad Core IvyBridge

Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H USB 3.0

FSP500-60HCN Power Supply Unit ATX

Cooler Master Elite 361 Mini Black Tower/Desktop

1GB XFX Radeon HD 7770 DD Core

4GB Corsair Value DDR3 PC3-10600

500GB Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda

Thanks.

EDIT : Sorry i forgot to include that the PSU only came with 2 molex connectors and they are being used. So i suppose an adapter is out of the question?

EDIT : http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/ocz-zs750w-uk-zx-series-atx-psu-750-w-11342078-pdt.html and http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/corsair-gaming-series-gs600-bronze-atx-psu-600-w-19736915-pdt.html

Although i dont need this much . I want something that i will not have to replace if i decide to upgrade in 6 mnths to a year. Due to the case design i would have to remove everything from the case to fit a new PSU. So i would like to spend a bit more.

Also the other reason i am going with these two is because they can be picked up at a local store that has them in stock and i would prefer to pay in cash.

My motherboard has a 24 pin slot and i can not seem to find if these would be suitable for my motherboard. Also would these be the same size as this PSU http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500w-fsp-psu-atx12v-v23-active-pfc-with-quiet-120mm-fan.

Thank you.

im not sure about the ocz brand. if youre on a budget you can stick with the FSP brand. im using the FSP Epsilon 700 watts and im happy with it. try looking for corsair or seasonic. i believe not all corsair psu's are expensive. you should be able to find an affordable corsair psu.

as for the wattage, 500watts should be fine on your rig. just get a decent brand for it.

Since your graphic card consumption is not that high, i suggest you to just buy the MOLEX to PCI-E adapter like this one.

In any case, if you really want to go ahead and buy, i would say OCZ 500W have more then enough juice for you but if you plan to upgrade ur graphic card in maybe 6mth to a year, i would suggest to pay a bit more and go for 650W to save money on long run.

The OCZ ZS is a better power supply than the Corsair CX. The CX is a budget line and uses questionable quality Chinese capacitors while the OCZ uses solid Japanese caps. The Corsair 430CX is sufficient for your build though and since you are using a low power graphics card the CX series should not have any problems. I don't recommend the CX line for use in high power systems though.

At the same price the OCZ will support 2 x higher end ( GTX 670s or HD 7950s ) graphics cards in Sli or Crossfire. That page is labeled wrong though that is an OCZ ZS not a ZX unit. It says so on the side and there is no 750w ZX model. Also the ZX is modular.

The Corsair is plenty of power for a second HD 7770 level card.

They are very similar in quality. The Corsair is made by CWT and the OCZ is made by Sirtec.
