Homegroups, yet again.

Okay, so I got a laptop over wi-fi that is win7 starter, and a tower over ethernet that is win7 home premium. I'm trying to get them into a homegroup, I've tried everything I can think of. Suggestions?

Can you explain what you are trying to do? Do you have a wireless router? Are you connecting them via Ethernet cables? We need some information before we can point you in the right direction.

Trend Net 300 wireless n router links them, the laptop connected over wifi and the tower over ethernet. I'm trying to get them into a homegroup but the shitty little netbook in question running on 1.6 GHz and 1GB of ram doesn't see the homegroup I create with the tower, the services are up and running, the troubleshooter is of ZERO help (thanks microsoft), so I figured I'd come here.

Why can't I join a homegroup?
