I'm buying a 120/8 GB SSD in my new rig and I was wondering which one is better, I can get them both for the same price (£100) and benchmark wise they are practically identical, what I want to know is do they own up to those benchmarks and are they reliable?

The only drive that approaches the 840 Pro in benchmarks is the OCZ Vector. Samsung, Crucial and Intel have the best reputation for reliability. The Samsung 840 or 840 Pro would be my choice hands down.

Buy for reliability, not benchmarks.

You will never be able to tell the difference in speed, but you will be pissed when your drive fails after 8 months.

I normally recommend Samsung - stellar track record. Crucial, Intel, and Plextor are also worth considering.

I maintain the ssd database listed in the sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

I would go for 840 Pro, fast and reliable drive. Kingston is using data compression which change the performance depending on your data, which is not so good.
