I have bought this computer, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103412

Then i realized after discussing it on here, that it is slower than my old computer due to it's integrated graphics. I was told to upgrade the power supply and to add a discrete video card. These are the ones that i selected, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050

Will these additions make it so that i can run games such as planetside 2 smoothly, or programs like sony vegas?

(I ask this as a second opinion so that I don't wind up inadvertently wasting money....again)

Yeah, it'll be a pretty big update and you'll see a really big improvement with a 650ti over the Hd2500 integrated from intel...

You could save a little more on the PSU with a Corsair CX430 for 30-40$ and it'll ok with a mid-end GPU like the 650ti...

Assuming that the graphics card will fit inside of your case, it will definitely make a huge improvement

Spawnkiller raises a good point. A 430 Watt is more than sufficient for this system and will save you money. Just keep in mind that if you try to go to a beefier GPU in the future, you may need to upgrade that PSU again.

For a small I3 with a 650ti it's plenty (the I3 is 77w max, the 650ti is 110w, given other perpherals like HDD, all usb will use about 50watt max, you're really ok with around 50% usage (and that is at max load not idle or desktop) of the 430 watts PSU...)
