I recently got a second Galaxy gtx 570 (both are Galaxy brand) to put an sli configuration in my machine to get better performance - namely in Battlefield 3.
However, ever since I installed the second card I've had nothing but problems with some of my favorite games. Whenever trying to run battlefield at decent settings (mostly ultra, or even high with just textures at ultra - MSAA off) my game will often crash - giving a pinkish screen for a moment, requiring me to run task manager or worse, hard reboot.
I've tried a multitude of fixes - underclocking the cards through MSI afterburner, bcdedit set values, running the graphics at lower settings so I don't hit that "VRAM wall", rolling back to different drivers.
It happens in various games that I've tried, (Battlefield 3, Dota2) I'm afraid it will happen in all of them.
So my question is, are there any solutions to this issue, or do I just have the worst model and brand of cards out there?
And if there is no real fix, should I just suck it up and purchase a new, high-end card? (I've been thinking about it a lot recently) Or wait for the next series drop and then get better cards? I've been thinking of a GTX 690 - but the dual card, my current resolutions, and potential release of the new series soon is holding me back. I really want cards that will be able to last me for a couple years at highest possible settings in games current, and soon to be relased (I'd love to play Battlefield 4 at the highest settings, even though EA is a greedy bastard... I can't help it) Any and all help is very much appreciated.
My components are as such:
CPU: i7-2600k Sandy Brigde
GPUs: 2x Galaxy GTX 570 1280mb 320bit Fermi
PSU: 1000w - something or other - it supplies sufficient power, trust me.
MOBO: Asus P8Z68-V Pro
RAM: 12gb (3x4gb) Corsair, something or other
