First off, roughly using FinneousPJs guide *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*
(I did make a similar post about 4-5 months ago, but never got around to actually purchasing, just looked through and dreamed about it. This time I'm more serious and have the money ready)

That being said:
I don't care about looks... I just want an effective computer. I'm not trying to show off to anyone... nor have any reason to.

Approximate Purchase Date: this month

Budget Range: ~1k including shipping

System Usage: Gaming/possible server hosting of games

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg has always been my go to, but I'll accept prices from other as long as they are well received.

Location: Logan, Utah

Parts Preferences: I don't care

Overclocking: Yes (this will be a first for me)

SLI or Crossfire: (not sure what this is)

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 - 23"

Additional Comments: Again... I don't care about looks. I want something that runs well and can handle the pressure of possibly even hosting a small dedicated LAN server, while playing said game as well.
(Though I may just dedicate on my older PC)

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Starting to notice lag in newer games, especially when hosting LAN dedicated servers.
Plus... it's just time I upgrade.
