Hey guys, I would appreciate help upgrading my GPU and CPU on my gateway DX4831-

After doing some research and reading a lot of threads on this site, I found this card to be good enough for my budget (~$100 or so )

http://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-Express-Graphics-900503/dp/B007ADEPX8

I also read some where this was a good CPU (I want to stick within a (~$150-$200 budget, and was looking to upgrade to i7 or equivalent)

http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Xeon-Qc-E3-1230-Processor/dp/B004O3DFHE%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJM4UVF4RQCUWVBQA%26tag%3Dcpubenchmark-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB004O3DFHE

Will both of these work in my system? (I've read that the 7750 will be fine will my 300w PSU, but wanted to make sure it fits physically in there...)

Also not sure if anyone here plays Heroes of Might and Magic 6, but does the Radeon 7750 card work with that game? I can't find any info on those two together?

Below is my current computer specs...

OS:Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Gateway DX4831
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
Memory: 8GB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3)
DAC type: Internal
Display Memory: 1696 MB

I would choose i5 over xeon. What is your mobo? Does it have pci-e and 1155 socket?
And 7750 works on both of your listed games just fine.
PSU is fine for the wattage. But I would choose good PSU beacuse your build can burn (fames...) with lowest end one. Or at least explode (not like nuke but like firecrackers).

Hope it helps!

Thanks for your response - If I upgrade to the 7770, won't I need to upgrade the PSU then? As far as I know the 7750 will work with 300w PSU, but I am not sure on the 7770 and my current PSU.

Also I have no idea what the difference is on CPU choices from one i5 to another i5 (aside from the GHZ part)

From the one you suggested to these I found, what is the difference if they are all 1156 sockets,

More importantly - Will I notice a difference from the CPU I have now - to one of these?

The PC is not slow by any means currently with Running Adobe CS5 Ps, Ill, and lots of other applications at the same time...

The whole reason I am upgrading my GPU and maybe my CPU is to run Heroes of Might and Magic 6. If I won't notice a huge difference between i3 and i5 I could spend more on the GPU, but I want to use this computer for a few more years and with investing in a new GPU, I thought it made sense to invest in a new CPU? It has 8GB of RAM and 2 TB of space, so I see it lasting for a minute... Thoughts?

Yeah that makes sense... thanks for your help

the only remaining issue is if this graphics card will work with the HOMM6 game itself? I originally search for the best one listed on the desired specs, but that card is out of date and considered no good, so I found the 7750 and can't find anywhere online to see if this relatively newer one that is better will work with the game, as this game and UBI has FAIL written all over it for supporting certain graphic cards.

I just wanna play this game..I loved HOMM3 ..but didnt care for 4 or 5...
