I've got down off the high horse and looked at value rathe than pure preformance.
i was going to get the GTX 690, but the dual GPU config creates artifacts and what not.. to expensive anyway.
the gtx TITAN caught my eye's! as im sure it did all of you, but i thought id settle for a GTX 680!
but the 2GB of memory was not going to do it for me, so i went for the 4GB Version, and decided to spend te little extra on FTW edition!
sounds great right!
right, but i mean... im about to but this GTX 680 FTW edition and i think what about 3 GTX 560 ti's in SLI?

''now for the people, i am talking about the 448 CUDA CORE edition of the 560ti''

it would give me around 1500 cuda cores! about the same as a GTX 680, and 2GB on each card would be more than enough i think.
and i can get 3 of these cards for the price o one GTX 680 FTW 4GB Edition.

CAN I GET SOME HELP HERE?

i do have a AX1200i watt power supply... i mean why not put it to some use.

yea the 680 surely seems like the right choice, just looking at my options i guess.

what about skyrim using 3.8GB of that memory to run incredibal mods?
how am i supposed to play that with out 4GBs?
4GBs is not enough for the enthusuist as far as im concerned, if games and mods can do that then why not buy the extra 4Gigs

So two GPUs somehow create artifacts (???) but three won't? I don't understand why you think one setup is bad while the other is better. I wouldn't bother with the older cards, just get the GTX670/680. Or the AMD counterparts.

yes i realized that after i typed it, the three way SLI would create artifacts BUT im comparing to the gtx 680 not 690.. and the 690 is way over my price tag, and the titan is way OVER PRICE>

As far as I'm aware, there are no artifacting issues on properly running cards. If you try to OC them beyond what they can handle, then you get artifacts, but not when they are properly functioning.

I am running two 560's in SLI right now. When I bought them, 2GB was a waste of money so I just got 1GB units and they worked very well....until Crysis 3 came out.

Now I wish I had 2GB versions.

The next GPU(s) I get is going to have more VRAM than I need. The price difference is minimal and the extra RAM may just get me through an extra "wave" of new titles down the road.

Right now 2G of VRAM is enough sure, but I'm not going to make the "good enough now" mistake next time.

Until Crysis 3 came out? There are plenty of other games out there that are vram intensive. Hitman Absolution requires well over 1GB on casual resolution (1920x1080). Ifyyou're playing on low resolutions though, why even bother spending a lot of money on cards? Just play without antialiasing and a 2gb card should be fine. One 680 cannot fully utilize 4gb.

When the 670 or 680 starts to struggle with new titles, I want the option to add a second card. I'm getting 3 or 4 GB of vram when I upgrade.

If I never use it, I'm out, what, $20-$30 bucks? I'll take my chances.

i agree with sticking to a single card now, but getting only 2GBs
when my GTX 280 had 1GB of VRAM
an i could play games WELL! and that was what YEARS AGO? when it first came out.
i had enough VRAM to play all the games i liked up untill 2008-2009 .
so idk, i feel like the developers will make more use of more VRAM and my 4GBs will be worth it.
like image yo having a 4GB GTX 680. and the GTX 780 has come out with 4GB of VRAM on stock?
and i mean the TITAN already has 6GB? like overkill...
but is it really overkill? or is it a prep for future games better utilizing VRAM and even CUDA CORES.. ext..
