I will receive my new computer tomorrow and my highest resolution of the gpu is 2048x1536. The max resolution of my sony bravia tv is 1920x1080 and my gpu is not supporting 1920x1080, the nearest resolution is 1600x1200 and I'd rather not have that resolution.

Is it possible to raise the tv's resolution to 2048x1536, or is it possible to let my gpu run 1920x1080 without actually damaging itself?

Videocard max resolution: 2048x1536 (Not supporting 1920x1080)
Monitor max resolution: 1920x1080

So if I do connect my videocard to my tv with a HDMI cable, it can run on 1920x1080? The site I build my pc on, is showing:

Resolutions:
1024x768 Pixels / 32 Bit
200 Hz
1280x1024 Pixels / 32 Bit
