Dear people ;)

i have a little issue over here.
I got a brand new system with following specs.

Asus m5a97 evo 2.0 mobo
Fx 8350 @ 4 ghz
ddr3 corsair vengance 8gb ( 2133mhz)
Hd 7850 2 gb videocard.
1 tb seagate hardisk 7200 rpm / 64mb cache

my problem is i cant get my ddr3 higer than 1866 mhz.
Wenn i turn it on 2133 mhz after restart just beeps and than i have to shut it down manually. I already tried to put the settings to D.O.C.P. 2133mhz profile and settings on auto or / 2133mhz profile non of this worked.

any suggestions? or advise about timings/voltage to set manually?

greetings and thanks in advance.
great forum. lots of info thank :)

@thomann061 thats weird because 1 week ago i bought the fx 8320 and i was able to get my kingston hyper x cards running at 2133mhz without OC the cpu!
I dont want to OC the cpu because i hate this stock cooler.
And wenn i use asus automatic performance button it clocks my cpu to 4.4 but my ram only to 1827 i thought.. or 1850 something like that lower than 1866.

Was that in a different computer? What motherboard were you using?

In regards to this build:

Asus m5a97 evo 2.0 mobo
Fx 8350 @ 4 ghz
ddr3 corsair vengance 8gb ( 2133mhz)
Hd 7850 2 gb videocard.
1 tb seagate hardisk 7200 rpm / 64mb cache

Both your motherboard, and cpu by default will set the memory speed to 1866 if it can. Anything higher than that, you might have a problem without overclocking. It would be my guess you would achieve 2133mhz with the slightest overclock.

When you use the auto overclock feature, the motherboard is going to mainly focus on overclocking the cpu as high as it can, at the cost of memory bandwidth. (please correct me if i am wrong)

I would recommed overclocking the cpu's nb slightly in increments of 10, and then raising the memory frequency after. It shouldn't be hard at all to reach 2133mhz.

That was on a differen motherbord with an asrock extreme 3 ;)

thanks for the information i will try it today.

Btw can someone explain to me what NB is ? so i know what i am doing instead of following instructions ^^
is NB northbridge? this seems logic ^^

I have a lot of NB's so i diddnt use the CPU nb but just the NB setting..
it was on 1.104 or somethign.. i changed it manully step by step until 1.280 but this has no effect.

I tried the memOk button what resulted just in the 1333mhz speed. and no other differences. so i changed it back to 1866. After reboot and logging in to windows my Deamon tools had an error i had to restart. after restart i had a Bluescreen dump after logging in to windows. I changed the mem speed to 1600 and started in windows 7 mode, i deleted deamontools and now i can run at 1600mhz.
Any solutions?

under ai tweaker

Set "Ai Overclock Tuner" to manual

disable power saving features and turbo (ask if you don't know which ones)

start off by putting the memory frequency to the lowest setting ( yes lowest )

restart with F10, click yes

back into bios -> now where it says CPU/NB frequency (typically around 200, im not sure what the 8350 is defaulted at), start by raising that by 10. press f10 and yes.

back into bios -> you'll notice your cpu speed is faster, BUT ALSO that you can raise you're memory to a higher setting!

mess around with this by incrementing cpu/nb speed by increments of 10 until you reach you're desired 2133mhz.

hope this clears up your problem.

Okay, here's my feedback, you probably won't like it... First I looked in the motherboard's QVL and did not find your ram kit listed. I then went to Corsair's Memory Finder tool and could not find your motherboard listed - I'm thinking it's a compatibility issue. The fact that they work at all I find somewhat amazing but it does offer a possible explaination for why you can't get the speed/timings the ram is rated for (it'll only be certified if the ram can be run stabily at the ram's stated specs)
The only two Corsair kits at 2133MHz listed in the Memory QVL are the CMT4GX3M2A2133C9(XMP) and the CMT4GX3M2B2133C9(Ver7.1)(XMP) which I find fascinating since they both have tighter timings than the kit you have. As I see it, you have a few options; 1) run the kit as 1866 with 9 or 10 timings (8 if you can get it). 2) Exchange ram for a kit on the QVL (or otherwise certified for the motherboard). 3) Contact Corsair about options to make the ram work properly - I don't think this is likely though but I'm sure they will try to work with you (at least I would hope so)
Again, I realize it isn't good to hear info but I think it answers the 'why'.

Heey peops,

its been a while, i tried things and settings, and even asus optimal, with this as result

http://valid.canardpc.com/2793704

i think i should try a kit thats on the vendor list.
I hope that will work, IF someone have a solution please update.

PS, can i lower my tempreture? i cant even pas 3 mins test with amd overclock program and its already on 61 degrees
