I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate on my laptop which is currently running Windows Vista Home, however, when the install starts I get an error saying I need to reconfigure my boot.wim file for flag 9 settings. I have done quite a lot of research on this problem and have dl'ed and installed WAIK on my computer. I guess the biggest problem I have is that running WAIK and trying to reconfigure the file is over my head with this program. I was hoping that someone could give detailed instructions on how to reconfigure the files that need to be reset. I don't want to do a clean install because I would have to reinstall to many programs so I want to do the upgrade within Windows Vista. BTW this is a legit disc NOT pirated! But for some reason the files were not configured correctly. Thanks for any help.

Is your Windows Vista Home the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version? Windows 7 Ultimate is 64-bit, and you can't upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit.
