GPU usage 99% after waking from sleep

I am running crossfire sapphire AMD 6870s and afterburner is reporting the second GPU at full clock speed and 48C (idle is ~37) after i wake the computer up from sleeping. The first is at all regular temp/clock/usage.

Could it be a faulty reading from afterburner? or is the GPU actually working for no reason?

If i disable and re-enable it fixes it, as well as shut downs and restarts. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It stays at full percentage unless i update the sensors, for example by running gpu-z.

I have also updated the drivers and am on the latest stable version released by AMD.

Then its probably half-ok.
Just your sensor is ''lazy''. Card is ok just sensors dont refresh it often.

The only problem is that the temperature is actually hot and it's not just the sensor lying to me. When i do update the sensor i can see the temperature gradually decreasing in afterburner and gpu-z.
