Laptop sticks on hp logo screen on startup

Everytime i try starting my hp mini 1101 it shows the hp logo screen and takes abt half an hour to get to the windows screen. after that everything runs normal.

What is the problem and how do i fix ?

Hi

Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive... do NOT do this if you have an SSD...
