I have a brand new WD Caviar Black 1TB and when I go to install windows it says the hard disk might fail soon choose another drive so I used an old hard drive I had and ran a smart test on the hard drive it gave me an error message saying something about reallocated sector cound and it was red. Im running a extended test as we speak but I just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem before and if its fixable?

Also I just used WD Lifeguard to write zeros on the HDD and it still has the error message.

Reallocated sectors stem from bad sectors. As the drive finds bad sectors it reallocates them to spares. How many spare sectors yo have is unknown but having bad sectors is usually sign that the drive is dying. I would not trust it.

You can check to see if theres any warranty left on the drives by visiting the manufacturers website.
