Hi!

I have an Asrock z77 extreme4 mobo... from what I saw, the esata port is shared or something?

"- 2 x SATA3 6.0 Gb/s connectors by ASMedia ASM1061, support NCQ, AHCI and "Hot Plug" functions (SATA3_A1 connector is shared with eSATA3 port)"

Would this mean my eSata from the front panel would plug into the SATA3_A1 port on my mobo?

Thanks,

Fisher

edit: also where would I find the sata3_a1 port... I can't find it anywhere in my manual.

Solution
Just match the notches of the plug to the port, doesn't get easier than that. Unless you are using or referring to the wrong cables. The front panel E-SATA uses a regular SATA cable for the motherboard, plug it to any available port. NOTE: E-SATA cable will not fit a SATA port, the plugs look totally different. SATA ports/cables has a "L" shape.

OK I found it... now my esata cable won't fit into its port!! Any idea why it isn't fitting? I'm afraid to put a lot of pressure on it and i'm putting it in the correct way.
