Hi,
I'm new to the forums, so sorry if threads like this have been done to death already.
I just upgraded my GPU to a Gigabyte Radeon 7870 (factory-OC'd to 1100 MHz,) and am thus far impressed with frame rates across the board. I'm wondering whether this card will be a safe bet to continue running new games on high-max settings for the next several years, or if I'd be better off returning it and upgrading to a 7950 (or something else.) I was having difficulty justifying spending an extra $60, but maybe there's a good reason to do so that I'm missing.
I use a 1080p monitor currently, and don't really plan on using more than one for gaming.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

With the way games are evolving these days its really hard to say what graphics requirements will be in a few years. Anyone who says that card will still be able to play on high in three years would just be guessing. I find with a card like that you typically will have to upgrade to another mid range card every few years. even if you bought the 7950, i still think in a few years we will be in a whole different level of gaming and you will have to buy a new card to keep up.
