Front panel audio not working

About a week ago my audio stopped working. I cant recall how it happened. I just updated my sound driver and still no sound. The rear mobo audio jack works, just not the front ones. Windows sound mixer says its putting out sound but its not. Im using turtle beach x12 for a headset. I do un-plug it ever once in a while to use my speakers through the back. Its not my headset cause it works fine with my ipod. I've had this PC for about 3-4 months now. Also one time i was wiggling the connector to get it to work and it started working. That leads me to believe i have bad audio jacks.

case:Ultra x-blaster v2

Sounds like a short in the jack/plug or cable somewhere (no pun intended). Contact Tiger Direct and see if they can send you a replacement Front Panel.

Did you check to see if your FP cables were plugged in correctly? :heink:

amuffin: It has to be installed right cause it has been working since i built the system. Lisan al-Gaib: Do you think i could take it in to my local Micro Center to see if they can check it? How could it get shorted out? My cat sits on me all the time and sometimes she shocks the wire, could this be the reason?

If it is under warranty take it in but if they are going to charge you $30 or more for parts, repair or diagnostics, best to just get a new case and transfer it over.

Hmm, that stinks. I guess ill just use the rear audio for now. Thanks for helping, guys.
