Don't really know what to make of it.

I know computers can turn off, and not turn back on, but this case was different.

I was randomly watching a video and then it switched off by itself, then turned back on.

I was just assuming it could probably be a dust-build up within the fans or one isn't operating as it should. (which i'll be looking into very shortly)

Quick side-note i'm hearing a weird grinding (squeaky) type noise within the computer but i'm really blunt to what to make of it.
It happens like on & off for several seconds.

Hi,

It can be temp issue, worth to check (clean heatsinks on cpu and gpu and reapply thermal compound).

It can be failling component or PSU which is more probable.

Can you provide more technical specs of your PC?

Best regards :)

Not too long ago I experienced a similar issue. The PSU had become faulty and couldn't deliver the right amount of power. When I began doing something demanding, when I say demanding then I mean watching movies or playing games, then the pc would turn off and then power back on.

I also thought it was a heat issue, as heat issues often are the reason for such occations. However after cleaning everything in the PC, then it kept on happening and at last all the USB ports and jack sticks got burned, which resulted into a fried PC, mouse, headset, speakers, keyboard and wireless internet.

You need to get something like this examined, because it can result into you paying a lot of money for a new system and new gear.

RAM sticks, heat or a faulty PSU are the biggest sinners, when something like this occurs and it can sometimes be hard to tell which one it is for the average guy.
